Listen for the Whisper (2014)

Listen for the Whisper pays homage to everything seen and unseen, known and unknown, to the mysteries pulling us forward and the energy that holds it all.

To create the works in this collection I have combined my painting and jewellery skills. Sandblasted text on glass hovers over the pages casting shadows that allude to the ephemeral nature of existence. Antique watch keys and winders hint at the illusory concept of time and the possibility of unlocking what is hidden. An element integral to these works is the intentional use of materials. Silver and brass slowly oxidize over time while diamonds and 24ct gold remain untarnished, representing the paradox between external worlds and internal timelessness.

NB: It was incredibly hard to photograph these works as a whole so I have added various detail shots to show all the elements.
